Klaylab · Legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Klaylab collects when you use our AI-powered video creation platform, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep it in plain language wherever the law lets us.
01Who we are
Klaylab (“Klaylab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at klaylab.com and the application at app.klaylab.com (together, the “Service”). The Service lets businesses generate short-form marketing videos with the help of AI and a network of creators and editors.
The data controller responsible for your personal information is Klaylab Ltd., a Delaware, USA company, at 1007 N Orange St., 4th Floor, Suite 5272, Wilmington, New Castle County, DE 19801, USA. For any privacy question you can reach us at support@klaylab.com.
02Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your name, email address, password credentials, company name, and role when you sign up or are added to a team.
- Billing information — your plan, credit balance, and transaction history. Card details are entered directly with our third-party payment processor; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Content you submit — reference links (e.g. public social-media or video URLs you want us to recreate), briefs, prompts, scripts, brand information, and any footage, images, or assets you upload for a video.
- Communications — messages you send us by email, chat, or through support, and any onboarding details you share.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — actions in the app, features used, jobs created, and credits consumed.
- Device & log data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, timestamps, and error logs.
- Cookies — see Section 6.
03How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service and generate your videos;
- create and manage your account, teams, and permissions;
- process payments, subscriptions, credits, and invoices;
- route your projects to creators and editors and deliver finished work;
- send transactional messages (order status, delivery, receipts) and, where permitted, product updates;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- monitor, secure, debug, and improve the Service and prevent fraud or abuse; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract (to deliver the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (for optional cookies and marketing, which you may withdraw), and legal obligation (e.g. tax and accounting records).
04AI processing of your content
Klaylab uses third-party artificial-intelligence models to analyze the references and briefs you submit and to generate scripts and other creative output. To do this, the relevant content is transmitted to trusted third-party AI providers for processing.
- We send only the content needed to fulfil your request.
- Our providers process this content to return a result to us and, under our agreements with them, do not use it to train their public foundation models.
- AI output can be inaccurate or unexpected; you are responsible for reviewing generated content before you publish or rely on it (see the Terms).
05How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here, with service providers (“sub-processors”) that help us run the Service under contract:
- Payments — our third-party payment processor (billing, subscriptions, fraud prevention).
- Infrastructure & database — hosting, database, authentication, and file-storage providers that operate the platform.
- AI providers — as described in Section 4.
- Email & messaging — email and messaging providers used for transactional email and notifications.
- Content retrieval — services used to fetch public reference content you submit.
- Analytics & referrals — analytics and referral-tracking providers, where enabled.
- Creators & editors — limited project details necessary to produce your video (we share what the work requires, not your billing data).
We may also disclose information to comply with law or valid legal process, to protect our rights, users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified of any such change affecting your data).
06Cookies & analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service, and — with your consent where required — optional analytics or referral cookies to understand usage and attribute sign-ups. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
07Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for as long as necessary to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Project content and generated videos are retained so you can access your library; you can request deletion of specific content or your account at support@klaylab.com. Some records (e.g. invoices) must be retained for statutory periods even after account closure.
08Security
We use technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials confidential.
09International transfers
We operate from the United States and the European Union (Paris and Berlin) and use providers that may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for more information about these safeguards.
10Your privacy rights
EEA & UK (GDPR)
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
You may request to know, access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” — Klaylab does not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any right, email support@klaylab.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
11Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
